Prior to a change a few updates back, multiple Sound Alerts could be played simultaneously and overlap.
My understanding is that this was unintended behavior and was addressed as a bug and fixed.
Our streaming community found this to be a fun & engaging feature, and it'd be great to see this return as a configurable option in a future update. Either as a toggle, or a "max simultaneous alerts" setting to define how many alerts can play before they begin to queue.

You can now append "?overlap=true" (without the " symbols) to your Sound Alerts browser source URL to let sounds overlap and play simultaneously instead of a queue system.
We will add a enable/disable option for this to the Sound Alerts settings page in the dashboard at a later point too.

It should definitely be an option to allow for chaotic combinations to those of us that want them. I think they're pretty fun and having it as an option will make it a win iwn

Overlapping Sound Alerts (henceforth known as OSA’s by myself and a pretend group of researchers) have bettered our community as a whole. I’ve seen channels that will periodically encourage a level of madness and chaos that beg for the use of OSA’s. I agree that making this a function that can be turned on/off by the creator seems like the best solution.
Statistics may show that OSA’s increase overall creator happiness. Maybe. The fact is, though, that we’ll never know unless they’re reenabled.

I suppose not having overlapping sound alerts would be nice for most communities, as the members who paid their 10 bits probably want to hear their entire sound clip. But, in the High Stakes sound alert community, at least allowing a creator to choose this option would be a win win for the Sound alert society, and allow for greater flexibility on said deployment of sound alerts.

THE HIGH STAKES SOUND ALERT COMMUNITY. I couldn’t have put it better myself.

The loss of overlapping sound effects really was a crushing realisation for our community and nothing has quite replaced it!

And this is coming from a sound alert creator himself! Michael makes the best sound alerts!

Please!! It improves the service so much and makes you so much money!!
Overlapping Sound Alerts led to some of the funniest stream moments during quarantine and really helped brighten a rough time. I really hope they can be enabled again!
